MANIFESTO

For a long time, a website was delivered with the exact tools it needed on day one. When your business needed something new later, we would come back in, build it into that specific site, and ship another custom update. It worked—but it meant your website could slowly fall behind unless someone was constantly coming back to maintain and improve it. We built Manifesto so your website can keep moving forward with you.

MANIFESTO

We still design every Coastal website around the people who will use it. Your business, your customers, your voice, and the way you actually work all matter. That will never become a template or an afterthought.

What is changing is what happens after your site launches.

A custom website, with room to grow

Manifesto is the engine inside the Coastal experience. Your site is still custom-designed for you; Manifesto gives it a better way to grow after launch.

Instead of treating every useful feature as a one-off addition that only exists on one website, we can build strong tools once, improve them carefully, and make those improvements available across the Coastal community. That means we can spend more time making the tools better and less time rebuilding the same thing from scratch.

For you, it means your website is not frozen in the moment it was launched.

Updates, right in your panel

When we improve a Manifesto tool, you will see that an update is ready in your own panel. You can review it and update when you are ready, without us having to disappear into your file manager or rebuild your website just to give you a better version of a tool you already use.

Your website will stay current because the tools behind it can stay current. That is the difference.

And just as important: an update is not meant to be a surprise. You will know it is there. You will have a clear place to manage it. We are building this so the experience stays simple even as the work behind it gets more capable.

What this means for current Coastal customers

Your website is safe. Your files are safe. Manifesto is being built to merge into the Coastal sites we already care for—not to throw away what we made together or force you into starting over.

If you have noticed new options or update notices in your panel, that is what you are seeing: the foundation being put in place for a website that can keep improving. Your custom design and the work already on your site remain yours. Manifesto is here to make the next chapter easier.

Tools that fit the way you work

Not every business needs the same dashboard. A business might need a better way to create print-ready flyers, publish updates, collect information, manage a workflow, or add a new customer-facing feature. Manifesto is designed to let you bring in the tools that actually make sense for your work.

You should not need five unrelated subscriptions, five new logins, and a different support system for every small thing your business needs. The goal is one connected Coastal workspace, with useful tools available when you need them.

Built for the future of your website

Manifesto is for current customers who want their website to keep up with their business. It is also for future customers who want more freedom to shape and grow their own website without losing the support, polish, and care that comes with working with Coastal.

We are building toward a future where more great tools can live in the Manifesto shop. Some will come directly from Coastal. In time, we are also working toward a marketplace where outside developers can create useful modules to share through the system.

That does not mean an open door for random, untested add-ons. It means more room for thoughtful tools, built to work inside the same ecosystem and made available in a way that stays clear and manageable for customers.

Your website should not fall behind just because your business keeps moving forward.

Still custom. Now built to last.

We are not moving away from custom website design. We are making it more sustainable. Your site still starts with a design made for you. Now it can also have an engine that helps it stay useful, current, and ready for whatever your business needs next.

That is what Manifesto is for: a better future for the websites we have already built, and a more capable starting point for the websites still to come.
